DESCRIPTION:Work weekend is back! At work weekend\, the camp solicits volunteers and alumni to tackle needed repair and maintenance tasks/projects. Camp will provide 3 hardy and nourishing meals per day and overnight accommodations for those who come up to support this event and work\, plus camp program favorites in the evening like campfire. There will be no staff available to run traditional programs throughout the day or supervise your children. We need individuals who are willing to work in an atmosphere of camaraderie and fun. SUMMARY:Mandatory Counselor Training
DESCRIPTION:We have mandatory in person training at the Y on February 21st\,  2026. This is a mandatory training if you are planning on attending camp this year either during the summer or for the upcoming March session. Unless you make arrangements with Jose Raygoza or Suman Rana to attend a zoom training\, we do expect all counselors to attend if you are planning on being a counselor. The Y will provide lunch for those who attend. We will also be filling out volunteer application forms during this day to make sure you are all cleared to come up to camp. \nIf you are interested in being a counselor for the 2026 camp sessions\, please contact Jose Raygoza at (562) 703-8006 so that he may add you to our roster and make sure that you are a part of our counselors’ group. Our first session this year is coming up on MARCH 22-26\, 2026\, for this session we are expecting between 60-80 students from the East Whittier City School District. We can use all the help we can get to make sure we provide a great experience to all the kids who visit camp throughout the year. \n
